The Possibility Club

Sep 4, 2017

This is a podcast special, profiling an individual who has demonstrated a particular mindset and determination to turn a devastating situation into one of curiosity, learning and hope. In this podcast Richard Freeman has a conversation with Ben Clench about his book, Ben Again, which chronicles his 7 year recovery from a life-changing traumatic brain injury. Ben and his girlfriend Jazz were successful international aid development specialists in their late 20s, working with governments and NGOs throughout the third world. On September 18th 2010, whilst walking on a busy street in the Dominican Republic, Ben and Jazz were hit by a speeding car as it came around the corner and mounted the curb. Ben’s journey since that day has been a complex and fascinating one, full of sadness but mainly of sheer strength that has astonished the medical profession. Despite living with the effects of a significant brain injury, Ben has completed a second Masters degree, designed courses for teachers and written this gripping book.
