The Possibility Club

Oct 29, 2018

Richard Freeman's special guest this week is Steve Wells. Steve is a global futurist, keynote speaker, and the Chief Operating Officer of Fast Future Publishing. His interest is in helping people to anticipate and respond to the disruptive bursts of the 'technological possibility' that are shaping the emerging future. Steve is a contributor to many books including 'The Future Reinvented—Reimagining Life, Society, and Business', and he is a co-editor of 'Technology vs. Humanity', as well as the forthcoming 'Unleashing Human Potential — The Future of A.I in Business' As an independent consultant Steve conducts research and analysis and 'what if' scenario development for multi-national corporates and government agencies who want to know how disruptive technologies might make or break their future decision-making. We spoke to Steve in late July 2018, a few months after a business debate about the future of skills in which Richard was chairing and Steve was a panelist. In this informal chat, we talk about what futurism actually is, whether we’re getting too hung up on technology as the great shaper of our age and what we can be doing - both professionally and personally - to get ready for whatever is coming around the corner.
